Variations3 grant funded by IMLS, September 20, 2005
The
Institute for Museum and Library
Services (IMLS) has announced funding of the Variation3
project. Read the IU
press release describing the project, which will take
Variations2 and turn it into a system that can be used by other
institutions, a "digital music library in a box."
Variations2 replaces Variations, Summer 2005
Variations2, version 4 was released at the
end of Spring semester, 2005. At that time, Variations2 replaced
Variations as the tool for accessing online music course
reserves, both audio and scores, at IU-Bloomington Cook Music
Library. In addition, after some pilot projects during the
summer, Variations2 is now available for home installation by
IUB students whose classes require Variations2 use.
New features in version 4 include:
- score annotation
- improved listening drill tool for use with
playlists
- audio digitizer tool for putting newly
digitized audio directly into Variations2
For more information on version 4
capabilities, visit the
Variations2 User
Guide. For instructions on home installation, visit the
download page. |
